You want to make a difference in girls’ lives. I know just how you feel.
The last 25 years of my life have been devoted to working with youth, but when I first began, I found that it was much more difficult to connect with them than I thought it would be. I wanted to help them face the issues and challenges that they are bombarded with, but it was overwhelming. I didn’t know where to start. It took many trial and error experiences before I learned what works and what doesn’t.
That’s why I created Just Be U, to shorten your learning curve.
If you are like I was when I started, you’ve tried to connect with girls in many different ways. Some of those ways haven’t worked very well though, right? At this point, some people give up or hope that a child will “self-correct” with time. The truth is, that without some kind of intervention, most will sink even deeper into dysfunction. Realizing this, I knew there had to be a better way. So, I started talking to girls. What I learned was eye-opening.
Today, girls experience things that I didn’t; namely cutting and other forms of self-harm. But, their feelings of loneliness, insecurity, longing to fit in, the pressure to be perfect, and the need to feel beautiful are timeless.
Now, I know how to address those issues. That’s what makes Just Be U successful.
Just Be U leads girls through a journey of self-discovery to help them realize there are times when we all feel inadequate, ugly, and unworthy; and that underneath those self-defeating feelings, we all possess many strengths and abilities waiting to be revealed. Using Just Be U as a guide will empower you to reach today’s girls of every race, culture and socioeconomic class, changing their lives forever.

I love this Curriculum! It's been so amazing to see the girls I work with open up and accept each other and strengthen each other as well! It's super easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone! I'm so glad I found it!

Our girls responded great to the material and were willing to discuss the topics openly, which in-turn helped the mentors learn about the girls and build relationships. It was so nice to have this type of curriculum available to us because of the wide age range of the girls we reach (ages 6-16).
